Dear e-friends of Jars of Clay-
It has been so incredible to get to see so many of you out on the road on
our recent legs of the Eleventh Hour tour. The Tour has been exceeding all
our expectations. Mostly we have been reminded that we have some of the
greatest fans in the world. The concerts have been so sweet. We truly feel
honored to be able to share this music with you. We have written it with
you expressly in mind, and have felt it night after night not only connect
us to each other but draw us into something of the Eternal.
The main reason I am writing you all is to let you know that you may be
hearing our new single "Fly" on your local radio station soon. We are very
excited about this song and want you, our fans to know why. If you have
seen us on tour or have seen the album artwork you know that this song has
a very special meaning behind it. It is written about some friends of ours
that very courageously fought a losing battle with cancer. The song
struggles to show how our faith and the things that we do or don't believe
about God and and our lives come sharply into focus when we come face to
face with death and tragedy. I need not to emphasize the impact that this
song could have especially in light of the amount of people who have seen
tragedy first hand this year and have been struggling to understand who
God is and how to trust him in the midst of it.
We continually on this tour have heard story after story of how you have
been affected by the music and our band. We have been humbled and
encouraged by the stories, and want you to know that they do affect us.
Please keep your ears open for a local station playing the new song. We
will keep you all updated as to exactly what the stations in your area are
that are playing it so you will know where to tune in and make requests.
Thanks to all of you that have kept us out here for so long doing what we
love to do. You have truly given us a great life.
graciously yours-
matt odmark

please call in and request the song to be played more. We appreciate all
