Weekly Review: January 10th, 2014

Today marks the beginning of a series of posts wrapping up the week’s events. Rather than inundating our patrons with small updates here and there (which are really better suited for Twitter), we’ll gather up each week’s newsworthy happenings and share them in one post. Our hope is to provide a more consistent experience for our readers.

Throughout the week, if you stumble upon anything you think is worth sharing, feel free to pass it along: jarsofclayfans (at) gmail [dotcom]

Via Twitter, the band shared this video of Shawn Sawyer skating to their version of O Little Town of Bethlehem:

On Noisetrade
Charlie curated a digital “mixtape” of artists on the rise for Noisetrade’s Winter Mixtape 2014. Here’s what he had to say about the project:

original-noisetrade-wintermixtape2014Happy New Year! 2013 was an amazing year for discovering new music. I’m in a band myself, but spend lots of time scanning the music world for new and promising artists. I gathered my favorite of these “artists on the rise” and curated a digital “mixtape” for you to hopefully enjoy as much as I have. Noisetrade has been gracious to assist me in getting the mix to you, and i’m excited to give any TIPS to Blood:Water Mission, my favorite non-profit that brings clean water solutions and HIV/AIDS care and support to communities in Africa.

Happy listening, and Cheers to 2014! – Charlie Lowell (Jars of Clay)
