Rest in peace, Matterpillar.
It’s April 7th, and that means it’s Jars of Clay Day!*

To celebrate, we’re re-releasing a collection of freebies previously hosted at jarsofclay.com: live recordings from the band’s tour to support of Who We Are Instead. The collection features the rarely-performed Redemption, a unique rendition of Worlds Apart, and other songs that are no longer a staple of Jars’ live show. The full listing of songs is as follows:

I Need You performed in Hobbs, NM
I Need You performed in Waco, TX
Crazy Times performed in Rockford, IL
Show You Love performed in Oklahoma City, OK
Amazing Grace performed in San Luis Obispo, CA
Frail performed in Chamgaign, IL
Redemption performed in Austin, TX
Revolution performed in Toledo, OH
Sunny Days performed in Colorado Springs, CO
Trouble Is performed in ??? (Bfeld, WC?)
Valley Song performed in Salt Lake City, UT
Worlds Apart performed in Denver, CO

In the interest of being a true archive, we are presenting these songs exactly as they were in 2004; the original file names and ID tags are still intact. We hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane!

While we’re at it, here’s a listing of the other freebies we’ve released since we re-launched the website last fall:

Remember, the media hosted at jarchives.com is offered freely with permission from the band. Never pay for bootlegs and unauthorized recordings! We strongly encourage supporting the band financially by buying their commercial releases: iTunes / Amazon / Webstore

*(The date is 4/7…get it? Some of our friends outside of the US might prefer July 4th, but we’ll be busy that day 😉 )

  1. The Internet Wayback machine says that on 11-30-03, their gig was in Brookfield, Wisconsin. I’m guessing someone used WC instead of WI for the state abbreviation…

The tag’s got the date wrong for Crazy Times recorded in Rockford, too. It was 11/28, not 12/28. I remember, I was there.

And it didn’t include the date for the Hobbs, NM show: 10-13-03.

Just thought people might want to know for completeness’ sake.
